Airbox Welcomes New Chairman, Tactical Director to Ready Company for Expansion and Next Phase

Airbox Co-Founder, Gerry Hill MBE QGM and Bar, to assume NED role; long-time Board Chairman Mike Peckham to step down. Steve Killick, 38-year Armed Forces Officer, to join as Tactical Director while company Board Member Steve Gilroy appointed interim Chairman.

LONDON, UK, 8 Aug 2024 - Airbox Systems, the leading provider of operational information sharing software for the emergency services, is pleased to announce significant changes in its leadership team, appointing Steve Gilroy as interim Chairman of the Board and Steve Killick as Tactical Director. Additionally, Airbox Co-Founder Gerry Hill will transition to a Non-Executive Director (NED) role, and current Chairman, Mike Peckham, will step down. 

These strategic leadership changes are set to guide the company into a new phase of commercial expansion while growing the user base and partnerships in core emergency services. 

Gerry Hill, who as a founder of the business has been strategically important in developing Airbox into a standard bearer technology partner for military and emergency services, will transition to a NED role effective January 2025. His ongoing involvement will ensure that Airbox continues to benefit from his deep industry knowledge and strategic insights. 

Taking over Gerry’s operational responsibilities and special projects remit, Lt Colonel Steve Killick will join Airbox in October as Tactical Director. Steve, an accomplished leader with an exemplary 38-year military career, 28 of which with the UK Special Forces, will oversee the implementation of key projects and initiatives, ensuring that Airbox is well-positioned to capitalise on new opportunities and navigate market expansion.

Serving as Airbox Chairman since 2018, Mike Peckham will hand over the role to board member Steve Gilroy from September. Steve brings over 40 years of experience in roles that include both founder and CEO of numerous businesses. He specialises in guiding companies through the scale up phase, and as the new Chairman, he will lead the board in setting the company’s vision and ensuring alignment with long-term commercial goals.
